our school

We are very proud of our school, of the people who work here and the children who learn here.

We are fortunate in our facilities, having 12 classrooms, a hall, a well equipped ICT suite, a comfortably furnished library and a work space area. We have two playgrounds and a large field with a nature reserve area. One particular feature of the school is our courtyard areas, one of which has an ornamental pond. We are also developing an allotment area on the school ground, the purpose of which is to encourage the children to learn about gardening.

We take a pride in our school environment and the display of children's work reflects this.

The school supports and follows the City Council's criteria for admissions. A copy of these arrangements can be found in he current booklet "Your child at school - an essential guide for parents," which is available in school or from the Local Authority. Parents wishing to admit children to Oakwood Junior School should contact the Headteacher in the first instance.
